Churches We Built in Africa
From 2004 to 2009, TIH teams traveled to Swaziland, South Africa, and Kenya to build churches, schools, and dig water wells alongside Pastor Malan Moolman and local community leaders. These photos document the builds completed across those years.

The Builds
Eight builds photographed across six years. Churches, schools, and community structures built in Swaziland, South Africa and surrounding communities.

2004
Swaziland Church
The first international church build. Steve returned to Swaziland and surrendered his construction skills to God. Team of 7 alongside Pastor Mandla and Pastor Moolman.

2005
Lorraine Church
Church build and preaching in Lorraine, South Africa. Team of 19 alongside Pastor George, Uneva, and Moolman. Water well installed.

2006
Bismark Church
Church build and preaching in Bismarck, South Africa. Team of 21 alongside Pastor Moolman. Water well installed.

2007
Kanana Church
Kanana community church build. Combined teams from Atlanta and NSPC — one of two builds completed in South Africa in 2007.

2007
Balloon Church
Balloon community church build — the second South Africa project in 2007. Construction and preaching alongside Pastor Moolman.

2008
Lorraine School
School build in the Lorraine community — part of the 22 schools vision running parallel to the church and water well projects.

2009
Metz Church
Church build in Metz alongside the TIH missions team and local community leaders. Part of the ongoing Africa mission arc.

2009
Balloon School
School build in the Balloon community. Completed alongside the 2009 Metz church build during the same missions trip.
The Bigger Story
22 Churches. 22 Schools. 22 Water Wells.
The vision that emerged from Steve and Malan’s first meeting was to build in each of the 22 communities Malan ministered to. The Africa work ran from 2004 to 2014. The ministry continues today in Uruguay and at home in Canton, GA.
